Scholarships at the University of Oklahoma

The 2012-2013 OU Common Scholarship Application is now open. Students can apply for Sooner Heritage Scholarships, all Financial Aid Scholarships, Retention Scholarships, and others through this application for the 2012-2013 academic year.

To apply, students can access the application through oZONE on the Money Tab. Deadlines vary.
Sooner Heritage Scholarships

Established by President Boren in 2003, the Sooner Heritage Scholarship program provides scholarship support for OU students, especially for middle income families who still need a helping hand with college expenses.

Please Note: All Sooner Heritage Scholarship funds have been awarded for the 2011-12 academic year. Students who received the award have been notified via OU-FAN (Financial Aid Notification) within oZONE.

The 2012-13 Sooner Heritage Scholarship application will become available in Spring 2012. Please check scholarships.ou.edu for the most up-to-date information.

The 2012-13 OU Scholarship Guide provides detailed information about the scholarships available at the University of Oklahoma. This guide reflects the generosity of its many alumni and friends in the wide range of awards recorded in this publication. Students are encouraged to contact their college or departments to learn more about the scholarships listed in the guide.

  • Be sure to check with college or departmental websites, advising offices and bulletin boards around campus for additional scholarship opportunities.
  • Conduct local and national searches online, but be sure to review information from the Federal Trade Commission about scholarship scams before you apply. Links to reliable websites, such as Fast web, Scholarships.com, and the Sallie Mae Scholarship Search, have been provided under the "Other Scholarships" menu to the left


Campaign for Scholarships

Launched by President Boren in 2005, the University of Oklahoma Campaign for Scholarships has enabled OU to double the number of scholarships given to its students. The campaign has raised nearly $180 million in total gifts and pledges from alumni and friends.
